Celebrando The Dot y Café Prismático en este Día Internacional del Café.

Publicado 3 min de lectura

This International Coffee Day, we’re raising a cup to something special at our downtown Salem branch: The Dot café. Está abierto al público, pero también es un lugar favorito para los empleados de Maps que se recargan con lattes elaborados a mano, mochas, cervezas frías y bagels. Having a full café tucked inside a credit union branch might feel like a novelty, but for us, it’s the perfect blend of convenience and community.

And the coffee? It’s something worth talking about. Since February, The Dot has proudly served Prismatic Coffee, a small Salem-based roaster bringing bold flavor and community spirit to every cup. The addition of Prismatic Coffee—including their Moon Dog Espresso Blend and cold brew on tap—has employees and customers alike raving about the flavors: smooth, refreshing, and perfectly balanced with no burnt aftertaste. “One sip and you’ll know why The Dot made the switch,” shared one team member.

About Prismatic

Prismatic Coffee itself is a local success story. Founded in December 2022 by Evan Delgado and Ariel Ellis, the company started with wholesale roasting and ready-to-drink cold brew. But things took off quickly, and soon after, they launched their first coffee truck—the iconic teal Citroën. In 2024, they teamed up with Kyle Layton, a former Isaac’s barista with deep expertise in coffee and drink creation. Together, they opened a 2,000-square-foot café inside a beautifully restored former carpentry workshop at Pringle Creek in South Salem—and they’re not done growing. This September, they announced plans for a second brick-and-mortar location in Monmouth. That will take some time, so in the meantime, their teal truck is on location serving up coffee and smiles.

Coffee That Gives Back

At The Dot, we’re proud to showcase these “buzz-worthy” local beans. And every cup does more than fuel your day, because a portion of proceeds from The Dot helps support the Maps Community Foundation, our charitable arm dedicated to strengthening our community through grants, scholarships, and local outreach.

So, whether you’re grabbing a morning coffee, enjoying a mid-afternoon pick-me-up, or treating yourself to a bag of locally-roasted beans, stop by The Dot and celebrate International Coffee Day. If you stop by (and we’d love to have you), please give a huge thank you to Christian and the crew for bringing such great coffee, warm service, and local flavor together under one roof.

Happy International Coffee Day! Here’s to sipping local, supporting local, and enjoying every cup.
